DARLENE KOLDENHOVEN
. . . is critically-acclaimed for her soaring, angelic, five-octave range as well as for the depth of expression with which she blesses her lyrics. She has a magnificent sense of musicality, and is a true Renaissance talent:composer, arranger, keyboardist, programmer, engineer, and vocalist. In addition to her spotlight appearance in the triple-platinum video Yanni, Live at the Acropolis, Koldenhoven received a Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Performance by a duo or group in 1986; was one of the singing nuns in and real-life choir director for the hit films "Sister Act" (DVD release in October 2001) and "Sister Act II;" performed on the Academy Awards telecast for the Oscar-nominated song "Blame Canada" with Robin Williams; is heard on the film soundtrack CD "Shrek"; sang with Celine Dion in September's nationally televised concert "Tribute to America," performing on the David Foster-Tommy Mottola version of "God Bless America" to honor its citizens during these troubled times; and just finished contributing to Barbra Streisand's Christmas CD.
